ONLINE LENDERS ALLIANCE STRIVES TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

TranDotCom Supports Alliance Mission, Hosts Regional Member Event

Since 2005, the Online Lenders Alliance (OLA) has been representing the interests of online lenders, and TranDotCom has played an integral role as a vendor member in promoting the organization’s mission.

TranDotCom recently hosted a South East regional 'Roundtable' event, giving approximately 30 OLA members, including four OLA board members, the opportunity to meet at the company's headquarters. The group engaged in a robust dialogue covering the business challenges and opportunities in the marketplace, as well as the role that OLA plays in representing the industry with legislators at federal and state levels.

"We value and appreciate the support that we have received from TranDotCom," says Lisa McGreevy, President and CEO, OLA. "Regional meetings such as the one they hosted for us are important because the Alliance encourages active membership, dialogue and participation. We believe in a competitive marketplace, and work hard to ensure that all our members, both our vendor members and lender members have a voice," she continues.

The OLA offers its members opportunities to become engaged through its conferences, committees, task forces and public policy programs throughout the year. At the center of the group's public policy program is a mission to educate regulators and legislators about the need for access to short-term credit products.

TranDotCom will be an active participant in the OLA Annual Spring Conference, April 14-16 in Washington D.C. According to McGreevy, "This is the one industry event dedicated to the legislative and regulatory environment affecting online lenders. It's an opportunity for attendees to hear from members of congress, and also to meet with their local representatives to tell the story of how they provide easy, convenient, non-discriminatory and privacy-protected short-term loans," says McGreevy.

OLA members adhere to a Best Practices and Code of Conduct covering lending and disclosure standards, and at its upcoming conference the OLA will announce details of additional new best practices guidelines covering online advertising and marketing.
